About me
Meet Lucia Sterpone, RD‑in‑Training
I’m a Dietitian-in-Training (RD2Be) and graduate student in the Professional Science Master’s (PSM) in Applied Nutrition with a Dietetics emphasis at the University of Arizona. I provide evidence-based, patient-centered nutrition care for adults looking to improve metabolic health, with a strong interest in women’s health across the reproductive lifespan.
My work is grounded in practical, real-food nutrition and informed by current research, clinical training, and a commitment to culturally responsive care in outpatient and telehealth settings.
Professional Background and Focus
My professional experience spans corporate wellness, clinical care, community health, and entrepreneurial education. Across each setting, my focus has remained consistent: providing inclusive, individualized nutrition support rooted in evidence and respect for the whole person.
Clinically, I support adults with metabolic health concerns such as insulin resistance, prediabetes, obesity, and weight management. Within this work, I have a particular interest in how metabolic health intersects with women’s health, including hormonal health, PCOS, fertility-related nutrition, and weight-related concerns across the reproductive lifespan.
My approach emphasizes thoughtful assessment, personalized nutrition strategies, and sustainable behavior change. This includes supporting individuals who are using GLP-1 medications as part of obesity treatment, with a focus on maintaining nutritional adequacy, supporting long-term habits, and integrating medication use into real-life eating patterns.
Cultural Identity and Inclusive Care
Raised between Mexico and the United States, my bicultural background strongly shapes how I approach nutrition care. As a bilingual provider fluent in English and Spanish, I work to make nutrition guidance accessible, relevant, and respectful of cultural food traditions, lived experiences, and individual values.
Cultural responsiveness is not an add-on to my practice — it is foundational to how I support people in building realistic, sustainable nutrition habits that fit their lives.

Mission
My mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based nutrition care that supports adults in improving metabolic health, with a specialized focus on women’s health across the reproductive lifespan. Through culturally responsive, personalized guidance, I help individuals make informed nutrition choices that align with their health goals, values, and long-term well-being.
Vision
I envision a future where individuals have equitable access to evidence-based, culturally responsive nutrition care that supports metabolic health across the lifespan, with specialized support for women’s health during key life transitions. I believe nutrition is both a science and a tool for prevention, connection, and empowerment—deeply shaped by culture, mental well-being, and health equity.
